Analysing Hawaii Five O 1) How does the programme show the crime drama genre? Hawaii Five O shows the crime drama genre because it shows the agents throughout the film using violence to the extent of the law. Throughout the programme we see violence and crime as the prisoners beat up the guards as they terrorise the prison in search of Chin. The setting of a prison portrays the programme as a crime genre. The police and criminals in the programme represents the genre of crime as the criminals commit crime and the police prevent it. The acts that the criminals take also portray crime, e.g the attacks that the criminals take on Chin. 2) How is gender represented in the programme?
